#LifeBooksWriting : Character InspirationThis weeks challenge is character inspiration. Where do I get mine? To tell you the truth, I'm not sure some of the time. I read excessively so I guess it comes from characters I've read. Pieces of them I've liked. A large part of it comes once you start writing too. Once you think of a plot, the characters just begin to form in your head. If I do a character sheet and begin to fill in all the blanks about the MC's, you begin to form a personality for that person. A lot of the time, my characters do things out of the blue as they come into my head.

I am lucky enough to know some wonderful people in the industry. A couple of them being the cover model above, David Santa Lucia and the photographer who took the image, Eric Battershell. I saw the image and not having even finished the book, knew that David's look, epitomized the character. Sometimes it's a case of seeing and knowing someone and gaining inspiration from them…

★✯ SYNOPSIS ★✯ Life is sweet in The Sanctuary—until Lillian Harris is thrown the curveball of her life.
Lillian is perfectly happy cocooned within the lofty perimeter fence of The Sanctuary. Her Sanctuary—a vast oasis for rescued lions, tigers, and elephants. The animals are her world. So when Lillian’s dad tells her a nineteen-year-old criminal who’s fresh out of prison is coming to The Sanctuary as part of a rehabilitation program, Lillian is more than a little apprehensive. She interacts with animals more than humans—and definitely not criminals.
Justice Armstrong is more arrogant than a Silverback, but something darker lurks behind his eyes…
It isn’t until Justice swaggers toward her from the parole officer’s car—pierced, confident, and more than a little hot—Lillian knows she has her work cut out for her. His stare has the power to rob her of all thoughts. His words, although crude and nefarious, bring a part of her to life she never knew existed. How is this cr…
6 Book marketing tips #LifeWritingBooks1. You don't need to spend a fortune. I use fiverr a lot. You can pay people $5 to advertise your work on their social media accounts and newsletters2.  Build your own subscriber base for your newsletter by running giveaways, promotions, giftcards etc and promote on all social media3.  When you get some spare $$ use this for facebook ads to either promote your book links or your newsletter subscription page4.  Engage your readers on your fan pages. Get to know them and build relationships. Respond in a timely and professional manner. 5.  Readers like teasers and sneak peeks. I use Canva as I find it the easiest and it's free. 6.  Write! Write as many books as you can! The more books you have out the more chance you have of getting noticed. If people like your work, they will read your other books!
My Latest Reads for Author Blog Challenge #LifeWritingBooks
This weeks blog post isme sharing my bookshelf and latest reads. I have way too many books on my bookshelf and not enough space as you will see from the first photo. I have books waiting on the floor in a plastic bag, not only to be read but to find a home somewhere among the clutter that is my bookcase. Not all of these books are fiction. There are quite a number of non-fiction books, recipe books and nutritional books. I get in moods where I change the genre I feel like reading so it differs from time to time.

I have many different genre's and authors on my bookshelf. Dan Brown, Val McDermid, James Patterson, Nora Roberts, Virginia Andrews are typical on these shelves. My special books which consist of Paranormal Romance and Erotica are reserved for a separate bookcase. Typically if I'm going to buy a paperback in a store, I'll search for Paranormal Romance first and yet when I search for books for my Kindle, I typ…
#LifeBooksWriting: My Writing RoomI am participating in the #LifeBooksWriting challenge. The first one being My Writing Room. Below is what I call My Writing Room. It is a room and it's where I write!

Yep. This is where the magic happens! Or where the procrastination happens! It's 'my space'. A place where I can shut the door, gather my laptop and lounge back on pillows. Not ideal for some but without a dedicated study/office, this is the next best thing. I get to work in bed! Ha! Of course this isn't my ideal writing space but we do what we can with what we've got right?
It's comfortable and I can shut the door on what's going on in the rest of the house and focus with a cup of coffee and the sun streaming in through the window. I have two teenagers whom are at school during the day so this is my quiet time to get things done.
My dream office would be a room surrounded by bookshelves on each wall with an old-fashioned writing desk as the central focal p…
